About Bonnie Dyste

As a Certified Clinical Counsellor and graduate of a Master’s of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have had many opportunities to engage with individual and relationship counselling throughout various seasons of one’s journey. I have a deep respect for the courage shown by clients in seeking therapy, and consider it a great privilege to work alongside you through your challenging times. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment that is both sensitive and safe, and that is uniquely suited to your personal growth.

As a person who has been married for over 40 years, and as a mother and grandmother, I offer a unique perspective to life transitions and parenting to my work. I see my role as providing support, guidance and skills to make change possible; helping you achieve your goals and experience a more fulfilling life. My style is warm, compassionate and transparent.

As a graduate of the Marriage and Family Therapy program at ACTS Seminary – Trinity Western University, my orientation is based on a Christian worldview; however, I welcome clients with any religious orientation. My approach to therapy has a strong systemic perspective, while integrating well-researched methods such as Cognitive Behavioral, Emotion Focused theories, Solution Focused therapy and methods. I am also a trained and qualified therapist in the Hope Restored program of Focus on the Family Canada.  With the Hope Restored model, I aim to help rebuild marriages in significant distress by addressing the root problems.
